How can ABA therapy help my child?
Applied behaviour analysis (ABA) is based on the science of learning and behaviour. ABA therapy is also known as behaviour therapy or positive behaviour support. ABA-based programs are implemented to help learners improve their communication skills, social skills, daily living skills, and much more. It is particularly useful in managing behaviours that pose a risk to the child or others in their environment. ABA therapy teaches a range of adaptive skills, improves independence, and reduces maladaptive behaviours.
ABA therapy is unique to other common therapies such as speech therapy and occupational therapy, as ABA practitioners are skilled in behaviour management and functional communication. These skills strengthen the learner's capacity to be taught and learn effectively, improving the efficacy of other therapy sessions and overall well-being.
What services does Spectra provide?
Spectra is a behaviour consultancy service. Our services include verbal and functional behavioural assessments, data-driven ABA program supervision, 1-1 therapy, training of other interventionists (such as caregivers, behaviour technicians); and assistance with in-school support and NDIS funding. Our clinic is located in Marsden Park, NSW.
Who provides the services?
All services are provided by the Certified Behaviour Analyst (CBA), Mithila. Ten hours of 1-1 ABA therapy per week, across 12 months is recommended for best outcomes. At least one hour with the CBA and the remaining hours with a behaviour technician (not currently provided by Spectra). Through our caregiver training program, caregivers too can provide effective, ABA-based support outside of our sessions, thereby strengthening the efficacy of ABA therapy.
What is the cost of services?
Services may be funded privately, or via NDIS under Capacity Building Supports: Improved Relationships Code 0110. Please contact Spectra Behaviour Solutions for a custom quote on the expected minimum costs per year.
